I will be using this article to do most of my main research. This article is very helpful because it presents both sides of the story. Not only does it give me the viewpoint of someone who defends video games but it also gives me the perspective of the opposite. This link gives me a multiple of articles that in which i can dissect points and use them as research.
From this article i was able to come up with many interesting points. Some of these defended my opinion while others contradicted them. This helps me because i know how to defend my believe. One very intersting point i found was that in June 27, 2011 the U.S. Supreme Court made it illegal to sell violent video games to minors. Also it is a proven fact that half of all Americans play computer and video games. In the past ten years Video Game sells in America have almost tripled reaching 7 Billion in the year 2005. Which amounts to almost 230 million computer and video games. The number of gamers since then has only conitnued to grow and the prices of these video games are only rising.
Soon everyone will be empossaed into the world of gaming. Our social life will strictly be based on these video games if something is not done to slow done the tremndous pace of this video game trend.

As the digital world is becoming more and more attractive, more and more people would like to watch videos on the computer, or do their work on the computer. The kids, of course, they would use computers to entertain themselves. Playing video games is a major way that kids spend time on, besides doing their homework or hangout with their friends. The consequences of playing video are imaginable. Kids do not want to speak, they rather to stay home, and they would become more violence.
If kids have their own computer, they would just stay at home, playing the games.
"Many psychologists question whether game playing can lead to true addiction.'"Said in the text. They would not do anything besides playing games. What would happen to their school lives? 81percent of game player on "World of Warcraft" are contributed by teens. This number has gone up by 50 percent in five years. That is how the attractive of vedio can be, and the consequence of globalization of computers. They could stay all day long playing games without saying a word.
Those video games often contains the killings. If you are playing one character on the game, you may have to kill those monsters in order to become stronger. Therefore, all they can think of is killing others. It changes the way of children think because they might think that only killing others can make them become better.
Changes in computers can sometimes be harmful for us too. Use them as an entertainment is fine, but we should not get addicted to it and stay online for whole day and even everyday.

  15. New York Times Article: Antisocial Networking?
    http://www.nytimes.com/2010/05/02/fashion/02BEST.html?pagewanted=all

The popularity of social networking is rising everyday. Children and adults of all ages seem to have some sort of social network that they belong to. Generally, it is a Facebook account. The interesting thing about social networking is that it is having what can be seen as negative impacts on communication and maintaining relationships.
Amongst children, it is changing the face of friendships, literally. Gone are the days of hour long teen phone conversations or playing in the backyard and exploring your neighborhood with a group of friends. Now, children and teens connect with their friends a non-face to face way: through text messaging or Facebook.
According to the NY Times article Antisocial Networking, the Pew Research Center found that “half of American teenagers send 50-100 text messages as opposed to calling their friends.” And according to the Kaiser Family Foundation, “Americans between the ages of 8 and 18 spend an average of 7.5 hours on some sort of electronic device.” This is surprising and scary data. It makes you wonder how will children and teenagers develop social skills?
Psychologists and child experts are very much concerned that children and teenagers are missing out on the important life lessons and skills that come with bonding and forming friendships. Such concepts that are important for adulthood are the ideas of empathy, being able to read social cues and understanding emotions.
At this time, there is not much data to measure how severe technology is affecting our children and teenager social skills. But experts can only imagine as technology continues to advance, their opportunities for “real” socializing will no longer exist. It is up to families to maintain traditions and provide children experiences to bond and grow up to be whole adults.

    According to the article,
Can smart machines really replace humans? Artificial intelligence is the science and engineering of making intelligent machines, especially intelligent computer programs. It is related to the similar task of using computers to understand human intelligence, but A.I. does not have to confine itself to methods that are biologically observable. It is rapidly changing how the world thinks and works.

This article gave me variety of different ideas to write about this reseach paper. Like will the smart machine take place of humans after years, even artificial intelligence has a lot of benifits, but it still may have devastating downsides. And it brings up a lot of issuses in many different ways.

I am 100% sure I will use will use this information in my research paper. Because it really gave me a lot of inspiration after I read the article. I can talk about how artificial intelligence change the world and disscus about the advantages and disadvantages. What really will impact the world so seriously. And the ways to slove the problems that A.I. brought to us.

  19. With the development of society, cell phone use is skyrocketing. However, the increasingly application of cell phone brings us both advantages and disadvantages. People can
communicate with each other in a much more convenient way, but on the other hand, cell phone safety makes us to be anxious, such as cancer promotion and motor traffic safety. Thus, there are several questions come out? Are cell phones hazardous to our health? Should cell phones be banned in cars? For the first question, no specific answer like yes or no can reply the inquiry completely. Or we can just say it in pending case since the evidences are not enough to answer. And for the second question, there are 22 countries successfully restricted using cell phone when driving and it does prove effectively. Additionally, health, safety and privacy controversies surrounding cell phones arose heated controversies. This article give me good ideas for my essay writing. I can consider the influences of cell
phone in much more aspects. Influences can be divided into good and bad. Both of them can
be referred from the article. And the invention of cell phone helps my first part of essay which goes to introduce the history of cell phone.

This is an article written by Rusty Rockets entitled “MySpace and dumping down of friendship”. It deals with the issue of combining the online life and the actual « real » life. He is talking about Michael Bugeja’s book. It is all about this specific issue. Is it possible to still have a real relationship with friends and family when always on our electronic devices? Does people realize how much their lives changes since the arrival of these new technologies? And why are we spending more time talking and interacting with the people behind the screen than with the people that we have face to face.
It affects my thesis in a way that it is exactly what my research will be about. The changes of the relationships that were before so easy and that are now seem so complicated.
I will definitely use it in my paper because it deals with the issue I am pointing out in my research paper. I will be able to find more articles from the same author and a lot of information about the author of the book too. They will both be two great support for my thesis and my research paper.

The article “Nuclear weapons” written by L. Martin in Columbia Electronic Encyclopedia, is about how the nuclear weapons are different from other weapons. This article also mentions what countries have nuclear weapons, and also talks about the effect of the environmental damage caused by nuclear weapons testing.
The article discuses some of the effects of the nuclear weapons, and explained nuclear weapon are power by atomic rather than chemical, processes. One of the points I want to write in my article are what country have nuclear weapon and this article give me a list of country with nuclear weapon.

  22. http://nms.sagepub.com/content/7/6/810.short

The article analyzes impact of cellphones on social interactions and relationships. According to Lee Humphrey from university of Pennsylvania’s research on “Cellphones in public: social interactions in a wireless era” published on Sage Journals online, through a year observation and interviews on cell phone users, cell phones created a new way to communicate and socialize among cell phone users. The article is based on two main points how cell phones created social norms to change public space and how it becomes makers of relationships. The main points are supported by Goffman’s concept of cross talk and hopper’s caller hegemony.
This link kind of affects my thesis by supporting it with actual facts and research that others had done before. And there are articles citing this article that goes along with it. I might want to include the main points of the articles to my paper as well.

I will use this article if I can have access to the full text, however, I was unable to access to the full text at home. Because this link is an actual observation, it would be strong facts to my research paper. Unfortunately, if I can’t access the full text in school either, I will not use this link because it only provides the abstract of the paper.

    http://l3d.cs.colorado.edu/systems/agentsheets/New-Vista/automobile/

Website: The History of the Automobile.

Automobiles have had profound impacts on mankind even before the time of Henry Ford. Not long after Ford reduced the price of purchasing the automobiles, automobiles became affordable and accessible even middle class people. This dramatic switch signified the new era of automobile. Automobiles freed common people from the limitations of their geography. They also increased the employment and mobility of commuters. However, automobiles rapidly posed undesirable consequences like polluting air, damaging the ozone layer, increasing people's laziness. Overall, automobiles offer more advantages than disadvantages to mankind.

The information in the article is quite beneficial in wring my final paper. It is an article comprised of credible and reliable resources. It's also combined with some vivid examples and quotes that I can derive from. For instance, ‘A historian has said that Henry Ford freed common people from the limitations of their geography'. The link serves to enrich the credibility of my thesis as well. It allows me to be deeply familiarized with my topic in a detailed way.

I will definitely use this link as a primary source to write my paper as long as it's a link with comprehensive ideas. Moreover, as you can see in the bottom bar of this article, I have accesses to various related links on automobiles.

This is the article named “Digital Art and Culture: A 21st-Century Paradigm Shift” and written by Max Eternity. The problem discussed in this article is very similar to the main topic of my research paper, which is:” Digital art – the folklore of our future”. The recent study of modern art trends, reviewed in the article, showed a growing funding of the digital art projects in developed countries such as Germany, UK, USA, Greece etc. It shows a global influence of digitalization in the art sphere. Also the article explains to us the future benefits from spending money on cultural development.
This article appeals to me because of its clear and coherent structure. These two factors are very helpful when it comes to understanding the topic. The article doesn’t cover the whole idea of my statement, but it helps me to find a right direction in my research.
These days, a digital technology is tightly connected with our everyday life. The growing impact on it from the computers is an inevitable process. But when we say the words digital or technology, too few of us think of the art. Though, most of us understand how the factor of entertaining is essential in our daily routine, usually this factor gets the least attention. The article brings these problems to the public’s attention.
Some of the sources of this article could be used in my research (“Art Digital Magazine”, Whitney Museum, America's National Endowment, Ministry for Culture, Communications and Creative Industries etc.)

First point, businesses and entertainment uses computer to make profits. Second points, education uses computer to help educate students better. Third point, the medical filed use computer to keep the data of patients.
This article clearly gives three major impacts from computer. It helps me decide the specific areas I should focus on in my paper. My paper will be focus on how computer influence education, medical filed and communication.
I will use the points about education and medical field from this article. However I will not use the point about business benefit, because the benefit part is not what I want to focus in this paper. Instead I will use other sources for my point about computer effect the way to communicate.

The history of transportation by unknown author
In 1800, the nation’s natural waterways were the only practical way to travel and trade across long distances within the country. There is not direct connection between the major cities. One hundred years later, dramatically changes have been made. Railroads connected the country from East to West, large ships moved passengers travel across the ocean, new routes arisen all over the country. In late 1920s the Regional airlines began to offer regular service, it was an entirely new way of transportation.
This source is mostly about the history of transportation, my paper will be focus on the cons and pros of the transportation. I am not sure if will I will include the history in my paper or not.
I will put this source on my waiting list, and decide to use it or not when I writing my paper, and see if it will fits my paper or not .

The article, “Twitter Mood Predicts The Stock Market” is about a theory of predicting future moves at the Stock Market. This theory was created by Johan Bollen and his friends at Indiana University. The researchers have discovered an algorithms based on six people states such as happiness, kindness, alertness, sureness, vitality and calmness and attempted to find if all or any of this states correlate with stock market price. The algorithm called the Google-Profile of Mood States (GPOMS).
So, the researchers used the tweets posted by tweeters for period of 10 month and tried to find a correlations between the GPOMS and up or down move of Dow Jones Industrial Average. They have found that there is a correlation between calmness indices of GPOMS and DJ. This theory has to be proved with by the time and if it trues the researcher Johan Bollen will become a reach person.
I may consider the information of this article and other similar sources in my research paper. But I’m not sure that I can totally rely on this theory because it wasn’t proved by time.
